The different names of the individual companies – Severin Ahlmann Rendsburg, Severin Ahlmann Reith, and Ahlmann & Co. Andernach – were confusing and unintuitive for the market. For this reason, the abbreviation ACO for Ahlmann & Co. Andernach was gradually introduced as the brand and logo for all three companies. ACO was to become an unmistakable brand with a strong recognition value.
The old SAB lettering. The abbreviation stands for Severin Ahlmann Beton – the abbreviation was still in use in the 1960s, and had a certain popularity, although the name of the Rendsburg company had already been changed from Severin Ahlmann Beton to Severin Ahlmann, Rendsburg in 1951.
During the 1960s, the abbreviation ACO also became common in Rendsburg, initially still in blue, and often with the small addition SAB.
